Zoids

Remember those Zoids model kits that you put together and they had little winding motors to walk around?

They're still making them actually!
The HMM line Zoids don't walk around but they're much more poseable and have like 300 parts, they're great.

The Shadow fox was my first HMM zoid and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get back into collecting them. It's a sturdy model without any bits that want to snap off if you look at them funny(cough*Lightning Saix*cough), and looks amazing once done.
I like to paint all the little texture details on the pieces like bolts and such. It's not necessary but it is satisfying and looks nicer.

I really like the Storm Sworder a lot better than the Pteros, it's got a much more organic and sleek looking design, and its poseability means you can get it into a quadrupedal pterosaur position without awkwardness. It is, unfortunately, a boring and pretty much solid unbroken silver out of the box.
It's not surprising that lots of people choose to customize their Sworders in particular.

The old models with their 15 pieces aren't entirely unloved though. Here's a Barigator I painted and lightly altered to look more like a Kaprosuchus.
